We present a gated silicon single photon detector based on a commercially available avalanche photodiode. Our detector achieves a photon detection efficiency of 45\pm5% at 808 nm with 2x 10^-6 dark count per ns at -30V of excess bias and -30{\deg}C.

We present a fully automated quantum key distribution prototype running at 625 MHz clock rate. Taking advantage of ultra low loss fibres and low-noise superconducting detectors, we can distribute 6,000 secret bits per second over 100 km and 15 bits p

We present an InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode with an active quenching circuit on an ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) that is capable of operating in both gated and free-running modes. The 1.6mm2 ASIC chip is fabricated using CMOS (comp

We present a fibre-optical quantum key distribution system. It works at 1550nm and is based on the plug & play setup. We tested the stability under field conditions using aerial and terrestrial cables and performed a key exchange over 67 km between G

Animal husbandry requires practical measures to limit antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Therefore, a novel management and housing concept for veal calf fattening was implemented on 19 intervention farms (IF) and evaluated regarding its effects on AMR i
