BACKGROUND Drug-induced torsade de pointes (TdP) arrhythmias can readily be induced in anesthetized dogs with remodeled hearts [chronic complete atrioventricular block (CAVB) dogs]. Similar studies in conscious CAVB dogs reveal lower TdP incidences.
