The present paper studies adaptive refinement on multi-patch domains in isogeometric analysis. In particular, we investigate the gluing construction for adaptively refined spline spaces to obtain discretizations that are C 0 smooth across interfaces.

International audience; In isogeometric analysis (IGA) the domain of interest is usually represented by B-spline or NURBS patches, as they are present in standard CAD models. Complex domains can often be represented as a union of simple overlapping s

We present functional-type a posteriori error estimates in isogeometric analysis. These estimates, derived on functional grounds, provide guaranteed and sharp upper bounds of the exact error in the energy norm. Moreover, since these estimates do not

While isogeometric analysis has the potential to close the gap between computer aided design and finite element methods, the underlying structure of NURBS (non-uniform rational B -splines) is a weakness when it comes to local refinement. We propose a

International audience; Local refinement with hierarchical B-spline structures is an active topic of research in the context of geometric modeling and isogeometric analysis. By exploiting a multilevel control structure, we show that truncated hierarc
