We construct an infinite family of intriguing sets, or equivalently perfect 2-colorings, that are not tight in the Grassmann graph of planes of PG$(n,q)$, $n\ge 5$ odd, and show that the members of the family are the smallest possible examples if $n\

In this paper we prove non-existence of nontrivial partial difference sets in Abelian groups of order $$8p^3$$ , where $$p\ge 3$$ is a prime number. These groups seemed to have the potential of admitting at least two infinite families of PDSs, and ev

In this note we prove the non-existence of two types of partial difference sets in Abelian groups of order 216 . This completes the classification of parameters for which a partial difference set of size at most 100 exists in an Abelian group.

Recently, Jungnickel and Tonchev (Des Codes Cryptogr, doi:10.1007/s10623-012-9636-z, 2012) introduced new invariants for simple incidence structures \({\mathcal{D}}\), which admit both a coding theoretic and a geometric description. Geometrically, on

We present an example of a result in graph theory that is used to obtain a result in another branch of mathematics. More precisely, we show that the isomorphism of certain directed graphs implies that some trinomials over finite fields have the same

In this article we provide a complete classification of regular partial difference sets in Abelian groups of order \(4p^2\), p an odd prime. It turns out that the known examples are the only examples. These are, up to complements, the trivial example

We characterize non-singular polar spaces embedded in non-singular polar spaces of the same rank using subsets of generators satisfying a natural intersection condition. By [7] and [8] this result has applications to the theory of Cameron-Liebler set

In this article we generalize a theorem of Benson (J Algebra 15:443---454, 1970) for generalized quadrangles to strongly regular graphs, deriving numerical restrictions on the number of fixed vertices and the number of vertices mapped to adjacent ver

Consider any permutation of the elements of a (finite) metric space that preserves a specific distancep. When is such a permutation automatically an isometry of the metric space? In this note we studythis problem for the Hamming spaces H(n,q) both fr

All known finite generalized quadrangles that admit an automorphism group acting sharply transitively on their point set arise by Payne derivation from thick elation generalized quadrangles of order s with a regular point. In these examples only two
