Room temperature ferromagnetism of GaMnN thin films is awaked by a mild hydrogenation treatment of samples synthesized by molecular beam epitaxy. Local environment of Mn atoms is monitored by Mn-L2,3 near edge x-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS)
