We prove that any collection of mutually disjoint and nonparallel genus one orientable Seifert surfaces in the exterior of a hyperbolic knot in the [math] –sphere has at most [math] components and that this bound is optimal.

The topological classification of nodal links and knot has enamored physicists and mathematicians alike, both for its mathematical elegance and implications on optical and transport phenomena. Central to this pursuit is the Seifert surface bounding t
