We propose a new imaging technique for radio and optical/infrared interferometry. The proposed technique reconstructs the image from the visibility amplitude and closure phase, which are standard data products of short-millimeter very long baseline i

We report on results from new high-sensitivity, high-resolution 86GHz (3.5 millimeter) observations of the jet base in the nearby radio galaxy M87, obtained by the Very Long Baseline Array in conjunction with the Green Bank Telescope. The resulting i

A gravitational theory is formulated by considering the physical processes underlying relativistic dilation of time and contraction of space. It is shown that the point mass solution of general relativity's field equation - the Schwarzschild metric -

The radius of the observable region of the Universe is of the order of its Schwarzschild radius. Due to the spherical symmetry, this allows to check the properties of the gravitational force in the vicinity of the Schwarzschild radius by comparing th

Using a single particle density distribution for a system of self-gravitating particles which ultimately forms a black hole, we from a condensed matter point of view derive the Schwarzschild radius and by including the quantum mechanical exchange ene

A localised particle in Quantum Mechanics is described by a wave packet in position space, regardless of its energy. However, from the point of view of General Relativity, if the particle's energy density exceeds a certain threshold, it should be a b

In the string/gauge duality it is important to understand how the space-time geometry is encoded in gauge theory observables. We address this issue in the case of the D0-brane system at finite temperature T. Based on the duality, the temporal Wilson

A structure model for black holes is proposed by mean field approximation of gravity. The model, which consists of a charged singularity at the center and quantum fluctuation of fields around the singularity, is similar to the atomic structure. The m
