Abstract A burst‐mode receiver chip‐set including a preamplifier and limiting amplifier which can recover both 9.95 Gb/s and 2.49 Gbit/s packets within a short 64.3 ns preamble time is described in this paper. This receiver is also able to settle

Our simple dual-rate burst-mode receiver in a TO-46 package is compliant with the 50G-PON N1-class specifications. Receiver sensitivities of -26.5 dBm and -27.8 dBm were achieved for 25 and 12.5 Gb/s signals with 200 ns preamble length.

In this paper, we present the first 100-Gb/s/ λ -based coherent wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (WDM-PON) prototype system, highlighting a real-time 100-Gb/s coherent transceiver with a simplified digital signal processing s

We demonstrate experimentally the burst-mode wavelength drift of a mass-produced 10Gbit/s EML for TWDM-PON. The peak drift of 36GHz satisfied the spectral mask defined in G.989.2 by adopting both a ramped 500ns turn-on signal and an initially red-shi

We developed an SFP+ size N2a-compliant optical transceiver for XG-PON systems with a high minimum receiver sensitivity of −32.5 dBm and a rapid receiver settling time of 20 ns by using a burst-mode preamplifier with a peak-detecting AGC circuit in

We present nonlinear impairment mitigation of wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) signals, through optical phase conjugation (OPC). We conduct our experiments on a 400-km long installed fiber link equipped with erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs)

We report nonlinearity mitigation of two 64-QAM signals, tested in a WDM environment, through mid-link optical phase conjugation. Efficient reuse of signal bandwidth and a Q-factor improvement of more than 1.7 dB is demonstrated in a 400 km installed
