A laser-diode-pumped short cavity CW laser was investigated. The beam quality factors of the pump beam for the slow axis was 20. The optical conversion efficiency of 58.4% versus incident pump power was obtained.

We analyzed numerically the influence of loss position and pump power on the efficiency in the oscillator of a mode-locked laser cavity. We reported the increasing pump power is effective in improving efficiency.

We present a highly efficient laser-diode (LD)-pumped continuous-wave (CW) short cavity Yb:YAG laser by high intensity pumping. The result showed that the optical-to- optical conversion efficiency versus incident pump power was 61%.

A single-emitter laser-diode-pumped continuous-wave hemispherical short cavity laser was investigated. As a result, the optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 57% for the incident pump power was obtained by high intensity pumping.
