This paper reviews the current state of knowledge of several classes of acoustic streaming. Acoustic streaming is classified based on the different mechanisms by which it is generated. For each category, the main achievements in terms of analysis, ex

Numerical simulations are presented for the unsteady flow and noise radiation of high speed circular jets. The predictions are based on solutions of the nonlinear disturbance equations. Only the large-scale fluctuations are resolved. The effects of t

A parallel, two-dimensional Euler, one-dimensional Maxwell code is developed to numerically simulate wake vortex detection using a radio acoustic sounding system. The code is written in Fortran 90 with the message passing interface for parallel imple

This paper describes a methodology for the simulation of high Reynolds number flow over rigid and moving bodies. The calculations are performed on a structured Cartesian grid regardless of the geometric complexity or motion of the body. The approach

This paper describes a methodology for the prediction of jet noise based on data from a two-equation turbulence model. The noise model is an acoustic analogy based on the linearized Euler equations. Equivalent sources are included in both the continu

A time accurate high order numerical simulation performed on parallel computers is used to study the minor losses due to an abrupt change in a resonator cross-sectional area. A finite amplitude standing wave is established in the resonator using two
