The reaction between malonic acid and S2O82− has been studied kinetically over the range 60–80°. A free radical mechanism is proposed to account for the products formed. The rate law is deduced from this mechanism.

The electrical conductivity of the water–selenium trioxide system for compositions in the neighbourhood of absolute selenic acid has been investigated at 34·8 and 25°. The results are discussed and compared with those for other inorganic acids.
