The Natural Coordinates (NCs) method for Lagrangian modelling and simulation of multi-body systems is valued for giving simple, sparse models. We describe our version of it (NPNCs) and compare with the classical ap- proach of Jalón and Bayo (JBNCs).

The choice of a feasible numerical method for the solution of an integral-algebraic equation (IAE) requires knowledge about its index and solvability. In this paper, the Σ -method for structural analysis of differential–algebraic equation systems

A characteristic feature of differential-algebraic equations is that one needs to find derivatives of some of\ud their equations with respect to time, as part of the so-called index reduction or regularization, to prepare\ud them for numerical soluti

Modern numerical methods for initial-value problems (IVPs) in ordinary differential equations (ODE) produce a (piecewise) differentiable numerical solution. The defect or residual evaluated at it induces a perturbed ODE that is satisfied exactly by t

This report present the results of the EURAMET inter-comparison carried out to compare the calibration of thermocouples from 419,527 °C (freezing point of Zn) up to 1492 °C (melting point of the Pd-C eutectic). This inter-comparison is intended to

Differential-algebraic equation systems (DAEs) are generated routinely by simulation and modeling environments. Before a simulation starts and a numerical method is applied, some kind of structural analysis (SA) is used to determine which equations t
