The results are presented of calibrating the sensitivity of olivine crystals from meteorites by the238U nuclei produced at the Bevalac accelerator. The comparative studies of the spectra of the etchable track lengths due to the238U nuclei and to “f

By using a selective etching technique in olivines from the Marjalahti meteorite, more than 2000 tracks longer than 150 μm have been found to be due to galactic cosmic-ray nuclei of Z > 50. The olivines examined were taken from locations ∼ 5 cm an

A study is made for the search of superheavy nuclei in Marjalahti, Eagle Station and in other pallasite olivines. The olivine crystals are calibrated for heavy ion track lengths by using heavy ion beams from cyclotrons. The calibration for ultra heav

About 1200 fossil tracks due to ultraheavy (Z>50) cosmic-ray nuclei have been studied in olivine crystals from two meteorites, Marjalahti (cosmic-ray exposure age approx.175 x 10/sup 6/ yr) and Eagle Station (50 x 10/sup 6/ yr). The track length data
