Convoy electron spectra have been measured in coincidence with specularly reflected ions in grazing-incidence collisions of carbon ions with a silicon (100) surface. Absolute yields of convoy electrons have been determined experimentally and compared

We present a brief progress report of recent studies of the ejected electron spectra arising from glancing-angle ion-surface scattering involving collision energies of hundreds of keV/u. A broad range of electron energies and emission angles is analy

In an earlier experiment by H. Cederquist et al. [J. Phys. B 18, 3951 (1985)] an unusual Q-value distribution for true double-electron capture was reported for 400-eV ${\mathrm{C}}^{4+}$-Ne collisions: a strong population of reaction channels resulti

Measurements are reported of mean energies of argon recoil ions produced by beams of 23-MeV ${\mathrm{Cl}}^{5+,8+,10+}$ or 19-MeV ${\mathrm{F}}^{9+}$, and of neon recoil ions produced by beams of 22-MeV ${\mathrm{Cl}}^{4+}$, detected in coincidence w

We have studied the angular distributions of double-electron capture in C 4+ +He collisions in the 400-800-eV collision energy range. At all measured energies an interference pattern has been observed which is attributed to Stueckelberg oscillations.

The electron loss to the continuum (ELC) process was investigated in He{sup +-}(He,Ar) collisions at 1.41- and 2.41-a.u. impact velocities. The cusp-shaped energy distributions of electrons ejected into the forward direction were measured in coincide

Convoy Electrons emitted from C5+ ions in Au[100] channel are measured in coincidence with exist C6+ ions. An enhancement of the convoy electron yield is observed at the energy of resonant coherent excitation (20.4 MeV, 2nd harmonic for n = 1 to n =

We have measured state-resolved angular distributions of one- and two- electron capture in 32 to 800 eV Ar 6+ -Ar collisions. The experimental energy-gain spectra show that single-electron capture mainly populates the 5s, 5p and 4f levels. We observe

We report experimental angular differential cross sections for one-electron capture in Ar 6+ −He collisions at very low energies (1.6−13 eV/u). The cross sections show an unexpectedly high population of core-excited states of Ar 5+ . An alternati

We demonstrate the use of selective excitation of fast ions by resonant coherent excitation as a new technique to study convoy electron production. It is shown that electron loss from excited states plays an important role in convoy electron producti
