Mossbauer effect measurements were performed with sources of 133Xe implanted in polycrystalline iron at temperatures from 90 K to 480 K, using the 81 keV transition in 133Cs, in order to obtain information about the lattice sites of the implanted imp

Lattice damage after implantation of111In in Ni has been studied applying the DPAC technique to the 171–245 keV γ-ray cascade in the daughter nucleus111Cd. Implantations were carried out at 10 K and at 300 K. The low temperature implantation yield

Mössbauer spectra of the 81 keV line of 133 Cs excited in the decay of 133 Xe implanted in iron are presented for a large range of xenon concentrations. The spectra indicate that there are two main locations for the Xe atoms: high field sites, with

A value | H | = 1.04 ± 0.12 M Oe for the hyperfine field at 133 Xe nuclei implanted in iron is found from a nuclear orientation experiment. According to the model of Daniel and Friedel this value would indicate that xenon in iron has valence 8.
