We report here the nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of eight bis-chalcones of D-π-A-π-D type. These dibenzylideneacetone (DBA) derivatives are synthesized by Claisen–Schmidt reaction. The compounds are characterized by UV–vis, FTIR, 1 H NMR,
