Ultrahigh-resolution Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) allows the molecular-level characterization of ultracomplex mixtures such as crude oil samples. By combining FT-ICR MS with electrospray ionization, a myriad
