Modern laser systems have paved the way for spaceborne laser applications such as Earth's surface and atmosphere monitoring. Well known technologies like Nd:YAG lasers are often employed; however, they do not always comply with all the different requ

A few-femtosecond X-ray streak camera has been realized using a pump–probe scheme that samples the transient response of matter to ionizing soft X-ray radiation in the presence of an intense synchronized terahertz field. Borrowing its concept from
XUV femtosecond pulse width characterization with a laser-based terahertz-field-driven streak camera

We have developed a light-field-driven XUV streak camera which relies on a terahertz field generated by optical rectification. With its time resolution in the femtosecond range, it bridges the gap between conventional and attosecond streak cameras.

Arrival time fluctuations of extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) pulses from the free-electron laser in Hamburg (FLASH) are measured single-pulse resolved at the experimental end-station. To this end, they are non-collinearly superimposed in space and time wit

The authors introduce a method for cross correlating vacuum-ultraviolet with near-infrared femtosecond light pulses in a perpendicular geometry. Photoelectrons generated in an atomic gas by laser-assisted photoionization are used to create a two-dime
