Background. Haemofiltrate reinfusion (HFR) is a form of haemodiafiltration (HDF) in which replacement fluid is constituted by ultrafiltrate from the patient ‘regenerated’ through a cartridge containing hydrophobic styrene resin. Bicarbonate-based
