The kinematics under spilling and plunging breakers are investigated using both experimental and numerical methods. In a modular laboratory flume, the breakers were generated using dispersive focusing, and the kinematics underneath them were measured

After the first model tests confirmed station keeping performance for Dynamic Positioned (DP) drilling units, many research projects have helped improve the positioning accuracy. Universities and research institutes developed their own closed loop dy

Jo Pinkster made the first attempt to estimate 2nd order wave drift forces. In his PhD thesis from 1980, the first practical application of wave feed forward in DP was demonstrated both theoretically and in model tests. Knowledge of the local wave fi
