Summary: While cortical regions involved in processing binocular disparities have been studied extensively, little is known on how the human visual system adapts to changing disparity magnitudes. In this paper, we investigate causal mechanisms of coa

Standard automated perimetry (SAP) is the gold standard for evaluating the presence of visual field defects (VFDs). Nevertheless, it has requirements such as prolonged attention, stable fixation, and a need for a motor response that limit application

Purpose: Assessing the presence of visual field defects (VFD) through procedures such as perimetry is an essential aspect of the management and diagnosis of ocular disorders. However, even the latest perimetric methods have shortcomings & mdash;a hig

Perimetry---assessment of visual field defects (VFD)---requires patients to be able to maintain a prolonged stable fixation, as well as to provide feedback through motor response. These aspects limit the testable population and often lead to inaccura

We describe a method for identifying and classifying acid-fast bacilli (AFB) and their associated morphotypes in the microscope-images of Ziehl-Neelsen stained sputum smears, in the context of tuberculosis (TB) screening by image processing. The impo

We present new results in the context of automatic assessment of the presence of acid fast bacilli (AFB) in images of ZN-stained sputum smears. Specifically, the first phase involving color segmentation in the HSV space is improved in terms of qualit
