Broadband monitoring with high signal quality enables using both broadband and monochromatic layer termination algorithms in the same coating run. Examples of a bandpass filter and an absorbing layer show the benefits of this “hybrid” approach.

We present a monitoring technique that combines broadband optical monitoring for accurate layer termination with quartz crystal monitoring ensuring the robustness of the process. Results both from sputter and electron beam evaporation tools are shown
