Transmission of four RoF streams over polarization maintaining elliptical ring core fiber is demonstrated. RoF streams are recovered without MIMO processing; signals on two polarizations of a mode could be recovered even under severe bending.

We present an analytical and numerical description of coupling between OAM modes in hollow ring-core fibers affected by stress birefringence and ellipticity. The analysis paves the way to a better modeling of propagation in these fibers.

We demonstrate an elliptical ring core fiber featuring vector modes with high stability and linear polarization states. We achieve six vector mode channel transmission over 0.9 km of 32 Gbaud QPSK without MIMO/PDM signal processing.

We demonstrate the mode division multiplexing system using two orbital angular momentum modes over 1.4 km RCF fiber. We also use a new mode demultiplexing scheme enabling us to do electrical polarization demultiplexing.

We experimentally investigate mode-division multiplexing in an elliptical ring core fiber (ERCF) that supports linearly polarized vector modes (LPV). Characterization show that the ERCF exhibits good polarization maintaining properties over eight LPV
