Abstract Recent studies have established Van der Waals (vdW) layered and 2D rare‐earth tritellurides (RTe3) as superconductors and near room‐temperature charge density wave (CDW) materials. Their environmental stability raises natural concern owi

Abstract The formation of a charge density wave state is characterized by an order parameter. The way it is established provides unique information on both the role that correlation plays in driving the charge density wave formation and the mechanism

Here, we present comprehensive phononic and charge density wave properties (CDW) of rare-earth van der Waals tritellurides through temperature dependent angle-resolved Raman spectroscopy measurements. All the possible rare-earth tritellurides (RTe3)

Ultrafast charge transfer processes provide a facile way to create interlayer excitons in directly contacted transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) layers. More sophisticated heterostructures composed of TMD/hBN/TMD enable new ways to control interlay

Pressure studies on the rare-earth tritellurides established the pressure-induced suppression of charge density wave phases. The hydrostatic pressure required to suppress the CDW phase is reduced for materials with larger internal chemical pressure.

A panoply of unconventional electronic states has been observed in moir\'e superlattices. Engineering similar bosonic phases remains, however, largely unexplored. We report the observation of a bosonic correlated insulator in WSe2/WS2 moir\'e superla

Named after the two-faced Roman god of transitions, transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDs) Janus monolayers have two different chalcogen surfaces, inherently breaking the out of plane mirror symmetry.[ 4] The broken mirror symmetry and the resulting
