A new cobalt(II) cyanato complex, [Co(NCO)2(H2O)2(hmt)] (I) where hmt is hexamethylenetetramine, has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The electronic spectra of the solid compound suggest octahedral cobalt and IR spectra revealed monod
