Habitat diversity and heterogeneity play a fundamental role in structuring ecological communities. Dam emplacement and removal can fundamentally alter habitat characteristics, which in turn can affect associated biological communities. Beginning in t

Sediment pulses can cause widespread, complex changes to rivers and coastal regions. Quantifying landscape response to sediment-supply changes is a long-standing problem in geomorphology, but the unanticipated nature of most sediment pulses rarely al

Nematodes are elongate, unsegmented worms with an elastic cuticle made of protein. Few published references concerning scanning electron microscopy of nematode are available and there is paucity of information at the ultrastructural level on cuticle

Burgos and Wislocki described changes in the mucosa of the guinea pig uterus, cervix and vagina during the estrous cycle investigated by transmission electron microscopy. More recently, Moghissi and Reame reported the effects of progestational agents

We have developed an instrument to measure the relative adherence of oxide films on sheet steel. It is based on the observation that, when a sheet metal substrate is bent, a surface film may adhere for a gentle bend, but peel off under a sharp bend.
