We derive the governing equations for the overall behaviour of linear viscoelastic composites comprising two families of elastic inclusions, subphases and/or fibres, and an incompressible Newtonian fluid interacting with the solid phases at the micro

We derive a new homogenized model for heterogeneous porous media driven by inhomogeneous body forces. We assume that the fine scale, characterizing the heterogeneities in the medium, is larger than the pore scale, but nonetheless much smaller than th

We develop a general approach for the computation of the effective properties of nonlinear viscoelastic composites. For this purpose, we employ the asymptotic homogenisation technique to decouple the equilibrium equation into a set of local problems.

Within this work, we upscale the equations that describe the pore-scale behaviour of nonlinear porous elastic composites, using the asymptotic homogenization technique in order to derive the macroscale effective governing equations. A porous hyperela

Within this work, we investigate how physiologically observed microstructural changes induced by myocardial infarction impact the elastic parameters of the heart. We use the LMRP model for poroelastic composites (Miller and Penta in Contin Mech Therm
In this work we address the role of the microstructural properties of a vascularised poroelastic material, characterised by the coupling between a poroelastic matrix and a viscous fluid vessels network, on its overall response in terms of pressures,

We describe a novel mathematical model for blood flow, delivery of nanoparticles, and heat transport in vascularised tumour tissue. The model, which is derived via the asymptotic homogenization technique, provides a link between the macroscale behavi
