Le Plum pox virus a ete detecte pour la premiere fois en France dans les annees 1960. Les souches PPV-D et PPV-M y sont toutes deux presentes mais les epidemies liees a la souche PPV-M, detectee a la fin des annees 1980, sont les plus problematiques.
