A large area deposition technology provides the capability for producing uniform thin-film coatings on substrates up to 2.1 meters in diameter. This technology successfully coated the Kepler Space Telescope primary mirror.

The large area deposition technology (3.3 meter dia.), used to produce the Kepler Space Telescope primary mirror, is continuously upgraded. Advanced computer control systems, energetic deposition technologies, and a larger chamber are in the future.
