The diffusion coefficients of D2 in Nb--1 wt% Zr were determined in the range from 923 to 1148 K. A hollow-cylinder model, used as the frame of reference, adequately described the transport of D/sub 2/ through the alloy containing oxygen impurities.

A rate law for the nitridation of pyrophoric uranium with deuteroammonia was established for the entire course of the reaction. The rate of reaction between powdered uranium and deuteroammonia was determined to be a linear function of the initial Bru

Results of luminescence studies on chelates of La3+, Sm3+, Eu3+, Gd3+, Tb3+, Dy3+, Tm3+, Yb3+, and Lu3+ are reported. It is shown that the intramolecular energy transfer efficiency is a sensitive function of the relative positions of the resonance en

An UHV system has been constructed for use in conjunction with a Rodder ultramicrobalance for gravimetric studies of metal–gas reactions. Though intended specifically for the study of the early stages of uranium oxidation, the apparatus and techniq
