An end-flre linear tapered slot antenna is presented in the terahertz band. The operation frequency goes from 0.6THz to 2THz, with symmetric radiation patterns from 1THz to 1.7THz, and gains up to 15dB. The gaussicity of the beam is over 80% in the w

Long-term scintillation measurements of the solar wind formation zone at solar elongations ranging from 1°–8° (Sun impact parameters: 4–30 R⊙) were recorded using the water maser source IRC-20431 at the wavelength λ=1.35 cm during its annual

We developed an all-fiber-based continuous-wave terahertz spectrometer based on optoelectronic signal generation and detection. The spectrometer has a very high spectral resolution in the MHz range over the whole tuning range from 50 GHz to 1750 GHz.

We report on fabrication and measurement of photomixers based on nitrogen-ion-implanted GaAs. We used energies of 500 keV, 700 keV, and 880 keV to implant N+ ions into GaAs substrates with an ion concentration of similar to 3x10(12) cm(-2). The resul

We report on photonic technologies developed at the MPI fur Radioastronomy and the Research Center Julich to generate Terahertz Local Oscillator reference signals for use on e.g. ALMA/APEX and SOFIA. The principle is to mix two (NIR) laser colours in
