In this closing address I attempt to summarize the Symposium by systematizing the topics covered, and I express our appreciation to all whom it is due to.

Applications of a microscopic approach of nuclear physics to an α+t+n+n+n+n cluster model of 11Li and to a six-body treatment of 6Li are presented.

The performances of uncorrelated single-configuration microscopic models, uncorrelated bases and correlated bases are compared. The correlated bases yield (almost) exact results for A ⩽8 nuclei, which turn out to be very difficult to approximate wi

Comprehensive cluster-model analyses of all decay cases show that the probability of clustering in most α-decaying states is close to unity. Although early shell-model results for the preformation probability grossly undershot this value and the α-

Strictly finite-range (SFR) potentials are exactly zero beyond their finite range. Single-particle energies and densities as well as S-matrix pole trajectories are studied in a few SFR potentials suited for the description of neutrons interacting wit

The energies and widths of resonance states are determined by the analytic continuation of bound-state energies as functions of a potential strength parameter ({open_quotes}the coupling constant{close_quotes}). Various numerical examples show the app

We present the variational few-body approach to multiparticle bound states called the correlated-Gaussian stochastic variational method (CGSVM) and show how it can be applied to systems of nuclear clusters. It will be demonstrated that the treatment
