We investigate buffer-aware demand-routing of key-consumption demands in QKD networks and implement a measurement-based framework for path selection. The proposed ML-based algorithm outperforms state-of-the-art heuristics by 22 % and 92 % for network

A two-layer switch exploiting orbital angular momentum (OAM) and wavelength of the light as switching domains is presented, aiming to increase the scalability with respect to the single-layer switches. The switch is able to accept 160 optical Gaussia

We use channel probing to determine the best transponder configurations for spectral services in a long-haul production network. An estimation accuracy better than +/- 0,7dB in GSNR margin is obtained for lightpaths up to 5738km.

Orbital angular momentum (OAM) and wavelength are exploited to build a two-layer switch based on an integrated OAM multiplexer. The switch effectively supports real data traffic and shows significant power consumption reduction compared to single-lay

The potential of orbital angular momentum (OAM) of light in data center scenarios is presented. OAMs can be exploited for short reach ultra-high bit rate fiber links and as additional multiplexing domain in transparent ultrahigh capacity optical swit

In this paper we present simply algorithms for calculation of Sagnac correction for optical fiber time transfer based on limited knowledge of the fiber route and using the more detailed but confidential data known by network operator only. The consid

The European National Research and Education Networks have a long tradition of shared use of resources, in particular, by deploying alien wavelengths (AWs) that disaggregate the transponders from the optical transport network. This network evolution
