Abstract We demonstrate computational spectral-domain ghost imaging by encoding complementary Fourier patterns directly onto the spectrum of a superluminescent laser diode using a programmable spectral filter. Spectral encoding before the object enab

Ghost imaging allows the imaging of an object without directly seeing this object. Originally demonstrated in the spatial domain, it was recently shown that ghost imaging can be transposed into the time domain to detect ultrafast signals, even in the

Supercontinuum light (SC) is a broadband source with unique properties as the result of cascaded nonlinear dynamics when intense light propagates in a nonlinear material [1]. Recently, the generation of broadband SC sources operating in the mid-infra

Ultrafast mode-locked lasers are well-known to display a rich variety of unstable dissipative soliton dynamics resulting from the interplay of nonlinearity, dispersion and dissipation. Although laser instabilities have been known and studied in depth

We report the generation of a low noise, octave-spanning supercontinuum in the normal dispersion regime of a multimode chalcogenide fiber with 100 μm core size. The noise performances are characterized in different output wavelength bands.

The study of dissipative solitons in mode-locked lasers reveals a rich landscape of interaction dynamics resulting from the interplay of nonlinearity, dispersion and dissipation. Here, we characterize a range of instabilities in a dissipative soliton
