The β-hexosaminidase (EC 3.2.1.30)isoenzymes were separated on the basis of their carbohydrate moieties by an affinity chromatography using immobilized phenylboronate. Normal lymphocytes and granulocytes contain two major forms of β-hexosaminidase.
