The polygon-based method is a technique for field rendering. This technique produces virtual surface sources of light in the 3D scene, which has an arbitrary tilt angle and shape. The surface sources are the counterparts of polygons or patches in CG.

We present a physics-based illumination estimation approach explicitly designed to handle natural images under ambient light. Existing physics-based color constancy methods are theoretically perfect but do not handle real-world images well because th

This paper introduces a real-time rendering method for single-bounce glossy caustics created by GGX microsurfaces. Our method is based on stochastic light culling of virtual point lights VPLs, which is an unbiased culling method that randomly determi

We present a technique for generating three-dimensional (3-D) computer-generated holograms (CGHs) with realistic lighting effects based on a phase-only spatial light modulator (SLM). Phong reflection model is employed in the calculation of reflectanc
A technique integrating the bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) is proposed to generate realistic high-quality colour computer-generated holograms (CGHs). We build on prior work, namely a fast computer-generated holography method f

Aiming at the lack of 3D model design function of the existing 3D printing cloud service platform so that 3D modeling based on cloud was difficultly accomplished, an online 3D modeling system — 3D Rubik's Cube, was introduced in this paper. The onl

Shading can smooth the appearance of polygons by reducing the effects of sharp edges, which makes drawn graphics more realistic. Consider factors related to the object surface brightness, analyze and compare several shading algorithms, focus on prese
