Mode-locked lasers find their use in a large number of applications, for instance, in spectroscopic sensing, distance measurements, and optical communication. To enable widespread use of mode-locked lasers, their on-chip integration is desired. In re

All-silicon highly-doped PN junction-based photodetectors, for photonic integrated circuit (PIC) calibration and power monitoring, are designed and fabricated in the C-band. The photodetector response is measured for different doping conditions. The

Optical Architectures for Displays and Sensing in Augmented, Virtual, and Mixed Reality (AR, VR, MR) II.
The coming of age of AR, VR and MR applications and usage scenarios relies on the development of ever-improved advanced light management systems, both for sensing (camera) and actuation (display), e.g., solid-state dToF or FMCW scanning or flash LiDA

This paper presents the necessary building blocks towards the realization of on-chip, lens-free, spectrally selective, THz beam steering. We demonstrate continuous wave (CW) THz generation up to 2.2 THz by photomixing using antenna-coupled silicon-in
