Somatic Y chromosome loss in hematopoietic cells is associated with higher mortality in men. However, the status of the Y chromosome in cancer tissue is not fully known due to technical limitations, such as difficulties in labelling and sequencing DN

Tissue microarrays (TMAs) have been used in thousands of cancer biomarker studies. To what extent batch effects, measurement error in biomarker levels between slides, affects TMA-based studies has not been assessed systematically. We evaluated 20 pro

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in cancer formation and progression by suppressing the production of key functional proteins at the post-transcriptional level in a sequence-specific manner. While differential expression of miRNAs is widely ob

Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have established a variant, rs10993994, on chromosome 10q11 as being associated with prostate cancer risk. Since the variant is located outside of a protein-coding region, the target genes driving tumorigenesis

Loss of the histone demethylase KDM5D (lysine‐specific demethylase 5D) leads to in vitro resistance of prostate cancer cells to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) with and without docetaxel. We aimed to define downstream drivers of the KDM5D effect

Prostate cancer progression may be enhanced by a high-fat diet. Here the authors show that a diet high in saturated fats enhance the MYC-driven transcriptional program, a feature that independently predicts prostate cancer progression and death.
