How the abrupt warming events recorded in Greenland ice cores during the last glacial cycle have influenced the tropical climate is not well known. Here the authors present new lake sediment data from the Peruvian Andes that shows that these events r

Recent warming in the Andes is affecting the region’s water resources including glaciers and lakes, which supply water to tens of millions of people downstream. High-elevation wetlands, known locally as “bofedales”, are an understudied Andean e

In recent decades, climate change in Peru’s Cordillera Vilcanota has resulted in massive reductions to its cryosphere and the upslope migration of species and agriculture. Little, however, is known about the response of the region’s many lakes th
El Drenaje Ácido de Roca es un proceso que incorpora de manera natural metales pesados a los cuerpos de agua, principalmente en las cabeceras de cuenca. Este folleto presenta información sobre cómo se genera el problema del Drenaje Ácido de Roca
