In her role, she helped to develop nursing practice in neonatal intensive care, pediatric semi-intensive care, clinical, and surgical pediatrics units. Ms de Lima Jacinto is also a sub-stitute professor of child and adolescent health at the UFPE. She earned her nursing degree from Universidade Federal de São Paulo in 2009, her specialist certificate in neonatal nursing in 2012, and her master's degree in science from Escola Paulista de Enfermagem (UNIFESP) in 2016. Her research interests include intravenous therapy, neonatal intensive care, patient safety, and pediatric nursing.; Maria Teresa de Melo Mendes, MSc, RN, is a neonatology nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Vila Nova Cachoeirinha Hospital and Maternity, São Paulo, Brazil. In her role, she helped to develop nursing practice in the NICU of Hospital São Paulo, as well as in other public institutions, such as the NICU of the Hospital Infantil Darcy Vargas. She received her nursing degree from Universidade Federal do Piauí in 2010, her specialist certificate in neonatal nursing in 2012, and her master's degree in science from UNIFESP in 2016. Ms de Melo Mendes has conducted several presentations on NICU-related topics. She earned her degree in nursing from UNIFESP in 1988 and also holds a PhD in nursing. She has extensive experience in pediatric intensive care nursing and has conducted numerous studies on nursing interventions, intensive care, intravenous and drug therapy, vascular accesses, patient safety, health safety, and infection related to health care.
