Recent advances in performance-based seismic assessment and design of bridges call for the development of computationally efficient models with high fidelity for nonlinear static pushover and transient dynamic analyses. Response models of bridge abut

A 3×3 bored pile group consisting of nine cast-in-drilled-hole reinforced concrete shafts and a comparable single-shaft were subjected to reversed cyclic, lateral head loading to investigate group interaction effects across a wide range of lateral d

Abutment-backfill soil interaction can significantly influence the seismic response of bridges. In the present study, we provide numerical simulation models that are validated using data from recent experiments on the lateral response of typical abut

Cable-stayed bridges provide an efficient structural solution over a wide range of span lengths and, as a structural form, are often used to build an iconic structure. Protecting them from threats, both malicious and accidental, presents a number of

The results of three full-scale lateral load tests of cast-in-drilled-hole RC piles are evaluated to provide insights into the soil-pile interaction behavior as represented by p-y curves (p = soil reaction/length; y = lateral pile deflection) spannin

Structural Engineering Research Frontiers.
The focus of this study is the development of analytical and numerical models of soil-structure interaction in support structures that are frequently used in highway construction in urban settings. In a series of field tests, we have collected detail
