Charge transfer (CT) complexes of aniline blue (AB) were prepared with standard organic acceptors such as TCNQ, TCNE, DDQ, and chloranil and studied with UV-VIS-NIR spectra showing σ→π* and π→π* transitions along with free-carrier absorption
