Cross-linked enzyme crystals (CLECs) are a versatile form of biocatalyst that can also be used for biosensor application. Laccase from Trametes versicolor (E.C.1.10.3.2) was crystallized, cross-linked and lyophilized with beta-cyclodextrin. The CLEC
Attempts were made to evolve an efficient technique for quality assessment of tea (Camellia sinensis) using a tyrosinase based biosensor to detect polyphenols (PP). Tyrosinase catalyzes the polymerization of PP to form theaflavins (Tf) and thearubigi

An amperometric principle-based biosensor containing immobilized enzyme tyrosinase has been used for detection of polyphenols in tea. The immobilized tyrosinase-based biosensor could detect tea polyphenols in the concentration range 10-80 mmol L(-1).
