A description is given of a direct determination of the π N s-wave scattering lengths from a measurement of the ls-level shift and width in pionic hydrogen. The relation with a recently proposed simple dynamical model for the low-energy π N-interac

A precision measurement with the SIN bent-crystal spectrometer of the wavelength of the $2{p}_{\frac{3}{2}}\ensuremath{-}1{s}_{\frac{1}{2}}$ transition in muonic $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ yields $\ensuremath{\lambda}=16.473766(89)$ pm, the accuracy being an

Energies and relative intensities ofγ-ray transitions in the decay of63Zn have been measured with a Ge(Li) spectrometer in an anti-Compton anti-annihilation set up. Gamma-gamma coincidences and the “energy level spectrum” have been measured. Som

In the electromagnetic interaction we know about the presence of a long range — van der Waals — force acting between neutral atoms. This interaction is caused by the electric dipole polarizability of atoms. In second order perturbation calculatio

We examine two experiments done by Kohler, Watson, and Becker to search for the emission of light scalar particles in the nuclear ${0}^{+}$-${0}^{+}$ transitions and their subsequent decay into ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$. We show that the $^{4}\ma
