Starting from first principles, we theoretically model the nonlinear temporal dynamics of gold-based plasmonic devices resulting from the heating of their metallic components. At optical frequencies, the gold susceptibility is determined by the inter

On-demand synthesis and dissociation of soliton molecules are controlled to occur simultaneously in massively parallel trapping potentials in an optomechanical lattice, unfolding the stochastic multi-soliton dynamics and enabling statistical insights

Optical solitons have been studied in a variety of systems for their unique properties. Here, the authors report on optically observed solitonic supramolecules, made up of large-scale structures of many solitons interacting within a fiber cavity, and

It is interesting to pose the question: How best to design an optomechanical device, with no electronics, optical cavity, or laser gain, that will self-oscillate when pumped in a single pass with only a few mW of single-frequency laser power? One mig

Knowledge of the phase and amplitude of an optical field is of critical importance in many applications, for example in measuring the carrier envelope phase of an ultrashort pulse. While the intensity spectrum can easily be obtained using a spectrome

The behavior of electromagnetic waves in chirally twisted structures is a topic of enduring interest, dating back at least to the invention in the 1940s of the microwave travelling wave tube amplifier and culminating in contemporary studies of chiral

The fast and reliable analysis of the natural gas composition requires the simultaneous quantification of numerous gaseous components. To this end, fiber-enhanced Raman spectroscopy is a powerful tool to detect most components in a single measurement

We report the first experimental study of stimulated Brillouin scattering and Brillouin lasing by circularly polarized vortex modes in chiral photonic crystal fibers, and demonstrate conservation of spin and orbital angular momentum.
