Cellular immune responses of mice are transiently suppressed during acute infection with lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV). Immunosuppression of mice correlated with a greatly impaired in vitro proliferative response of the majority of the

We have developed differential RT-PCR methods to distinguish different isolates of LDV and have purified several quasispecies by repeated end point dilution in mice. They fall into two groups, each possessing two or more members. Group A viruses are

Viruses have developed various strategies to coexist with vertebrate hosts. Lactate dehydrogenase-elevating virus (LDV) is a highly cytopathic virus exhibiting an extraordinary rate of replication; LDV nevertheless establishes a persistent infection

The effects of natural nucleosides and various analogs thereof on Na(+)-dependent, concentrative transport of formycin B by cultured rat macrophages were investigated. Concentrative transport is the sole nucleoside transport system of these cells. Th
