We present here a fully integrated fluorescence activated cell sorter (FACS), able to perform analysis at single cell level. This optofluidic device is obtained on a fused silica substrate with the use of femtosecond laser micromachining.

The use of femtosecond lasers as microfabrication tools to produce three-dimensional photonic circuits and optofluidic networks in transparent materials is reported. Applications to on-chip optical sensing in lab-on-a-chip and integrated quantum circ

We present the photonic analogy of the Fractional Bloch Oscillations [1]: the oscillatory motion of interacting particles moving in a periodic potential, under the presence of a static force. The analogy is implemented with the propagation of classic

Scaling-up optical quantum technologies requires to combine highly efficient multi-photon sources and integrated waveguide components. Here, we interface these scalable platforms: a quantum dot based multi-photon source and a reconfigurable photonic

Femtosecond laser writing is applied to form Bragg grating waveguides in the diamond bulk. Type II waveguides are integrated with a single pulse point-by-point periodic laser modification positioned towards the edge of the waveguide core. These photo

Diamond's nitrogen vacancy (NV) center is an optically active defect with long spin coherence times, showing great potential for both efficient nanoscale magnetometry and quantum information processing schemes. Recently, both the formation of buried

A boson sampling device is a specialised quantum computer that solves a problem which is strongly believed to be computationally hard for classical computers. Recently a number of small-scale implementations have been reported, all based on multi-pho

We introduce and experimentally demonstrate a class of surface bound states with algebraic decay in a one-dimensional tight-binding lattice. Such states have an energy embedded in the spectrum of scattered states and are structurally stable against p

We perform a comprehensive set of experiments that characterize bosonic bunching of up to 3 photons in interferometers of up to 16 modes. Our experiments verify two rules that govern bosonic bunching. The first rule, obtained recently in [1,2], predi
