The north-western shore of the Black Sea is represented by thick (30-45 m) and stratigraphically complete Quaternary loess-soil sequences. The Sanzhiyka site recorded a continuous sediment accumulation throughout the past 900 ka: each soil unit has a

The Volyn’ Upland is a “loess island” in the middle of the European loess belt. In the previously studied sections of this region, the Pleistocene palaeosols are mainly polygenetic; therefore, the pedocomplexes comprise no more than two soils.

A combined pedostratigraphic and rock magnetic study of four loess-palaeosol sequences in the Middle Dnieper area, Ukraine (at Gunky, Zamozhne, Vyazivok and Stari Kaydaky) have been performed in order to determine the suitability of these sites for r

Palaeoclimatic reconstructions including rock magnetic, magnetostratigraphic, palaeopedological and pollen studies were performed on two reference Ukrainian loess-palaeosol sequences at Stari Kaydaky and Vyazivok, located within the Middle Dnieper Ri

The Novyi Tik sequence includes the Middle and Upper Pleistocene loess-palaeosol units of Ukrainian stratigraphy, tentatively correlated with marine isotope stages (MIS) 10 to 1. The site demonstrates the facies diversity of palaeosols and other sedi
