We report on recent results that show that the pair correlation function of systems with exponentially decaying interactions can fail to exhibit Ornstein-Zernike asymptotics at all sufficiently high temperatures and all sufficiently small densities.

Herschel was launched on 14 May 2009, and is now an operational ESA space observatory offering unprecedented observational capabilities in the far-infrared and submillimetre spectral range 55-671 {\mu}m. Herschel carries a 3.5 metre diameter passivel

We present a collection of eight data sets, from state-of-the-art experiments and numerical simulations on turbulent velocity statistics along particle trajectories obtained in different flows with Reynolds numbers in the range $R_\lambda \in [120:74

In the course of the NIR/MIR AGN search combining the 6.7 mu ISOCAM Parallel Survey and 2MASS we have discovered 24 type-1 quasars about a third of which are too red to be discriminated by optical/UV search techniques. Here we report on a detailed ca

Context: A long-standing challenge of observational AGN research is to find type 2 quasars, the luminous analogues of Seyfert-2 galaxies. Aims: We search for luminous narrow-line type 2 AGN, characterise their properties, and compare them with broad-

A Particle Tracking Velocimetry experiment has been performed in a turbulent flow at intermediate Reynolds number. We present experimentally obtained stretching rates for particle pairs in the inertial range. When compensated by a characteristic time

We combined the ISOCAM Parallel Mode Survey at 6.7 micron (LW2 filter) with the Two Micron All Sky Survey in order to obtain a powerful tool to search for AGN independent of dust extinction. Using moderate colour criteria H-K>0.5 and K-LW2>2.7 we hav

We observed the cluster Abell 2218 (z=0.175), with ISOCAM on board the Infrared Space Observatory, using two filters with reference wavelengths of 6.7 and 14.3 microns. We detected 67 extragalactic mid-infrared sources. Using the ``GRASIL'' models of

Observations of the core of the massive cluster Cl 0024+1654, at a redshift z=0.39, were obtained with the Infrared Space Observatory using ISOCAM at 6.7 mum and 14.3 mum (hereafter 15 mum). Thirty five sources were detected at 15 mum and thirteen of
