A preparation method was developed for [1,2,4]triazino[6,1-b]quinazoline-4,10-diones using isatoic anhydride, carboxylic acids hydrazides, ethyl oxalyl chloride, and hydroxylamine.

Anthranilic acid amide reacts with cyclic anhydrides to give the corresponding N-acyl derivatives at the amino group, while analogous reactions of o-aminobenzohydroxamic acid lead lead to formation of 3-hydroxy-quinazolin-4-ones under mild conditions
